Why lavamoon.io

This domain is ultimately a joke I made up. "Io," while being a very popular top-level domain, is also the name of one of the moons of Jupiter. This moon happens to be the only volcanically active moon in the Solar System. Thus, the second-level domain describes the top-level domain. The "lava moon" is Io.

I originally did it because I thought it was funny, but the joke's on me, because I've been asked to explain this reasoning about 50 times now. No regerts, of course. You may Snicker, but I've documented my logic here to allay probably 5% of future questions.
